Wrong number...........

Seven months after closing our shop, The Red Ladder, Mike and I have plans to try again. As you have probably guessed by now I'm having trouble giving up my dream of owning a retail shop. We have leased a very small space at 106 Adams Street in Suttons Bay. It's just around the corner from our last two locations! This is a very small ugly office space with low ceilings and not a glimmer of charm. Armed with cleaning supplies, painting supplies, and 1,000 business cards with our old phone number we are ready to take the plunge. All things old..............

About this time of year I have lost all patience with our old windows. When it's hot it takes a pry bar to open them and a hammer to tap them shut. When it's cool they are so loose they crash down and will crush your fingers if you're not careful. But soon they will all be shut and it will only be the cold and the heat loss we are dealing with. Wow, enough complaining. I really do love all things old......even the windows! Sue

Crazy.............

I really need to paint the kitchen floor again. I find myself scrubbing and scrubbing on spots that are chipped off paint. Sue

Waiting...............

I'm waiting for word on an apartment in Suttons Bay . Some days I wait patiently and some days I wait impatiently. Sue

Just when I thought we would never see the sun again.........it's back! Sue

I stayed under the comforter until eight o'clock this morning. The thunder and lightening were frightful!!!!!! Sue

Mike says it's cool enough today to make chili. We do need to use some of these tomatoes. Sue

Our wonderful vacation comes to an end as we make our way down the steep hill from the Grand Hotel to the boat docks. We have been surrounded by all things beautiful this week! Thank-you so much Mary and Steve. We'll miss this magical place and we'll miss being with you. Love, Mom and Dad
